Taking Your Kids to the California Academy of Sciences

In the fall 2008, San Francisco’s California Academy of Sciences re-opened it’s new doors in Golden Gate Park. Touted as one of the largest museums in the world, children from all over come to marvel at its glorious exhibits and inhabitants day after day. My kid’s count themselves as some of the lucky ones who are able to visit this place on a regular basis. Regardless if you live here or if you’re visiting from out of town, The Academy is a great place to take the kids on a cold or rainy day.

Growing up in New Jersey, any winter vacations with my family were spent in the tropics. American cities have their own Christmas season allure, though, and any vacation in which families can drive or take a train (hence save on airfare) allows more of the travel budget to be put towards destinations’ attractions and activities.
