Warm places to visit in cold weather

Warm places to visit in cold weather

If your family is anything like mine, you love the start of winter. That first snowfall is magical, and the thrill of warm soup and hot chocolate has not yet worn off.

Fast forward to January.

You’re all freezing, your kids have lost one mitten out of each of three sets and your front yard snowman is looking kind of gray. Even worse, you have at least a couple more months to go.

But you don’t have to take the cold lying down. January’s a great time to travel. Fares are low because kids are back in school, and everyone’s back at work after the holidays. The airports aren’t crowded, and parts of the country (believe it or not) are sunny and bright.

Make a new year’s resolution to get the family together and take off for warmer climates like these.

Best Locations for Combining a Work Trip with a Family Vacation

Most Family-Friendly Water Parks

Don’t forget to pack the family’s swimsuits and sunscreen on the next family vacation. No matter where you go, there is a good chance there is a water park nearby. Here are some of the most fun family-friendly water parks to add to your itinerary.

The land of theme parks, Orlando, Florida, wouldn’t be complete without some refreshing water rides, and that’s where Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park comes in. One of two Walt Disney World Resort water parks, Typhoon appeals to the entire family from the little ones to the thrill seeking adults and everyone in between. Ketchakiddee Creek section is ideal for the young children while the older kids have a blast riding the Humunga Kowabaunga, catching some waves at the surf pool or coasting down the various water slides.
