What to do when a Kid Gets Sick on Vacation

What to do when a Kid Gets Sick on Vacation

It was like something out of a movie – one minute, my little one was feeling a bit sick.  “No biggie, I thought,” even though we were a thousand miles from home.  “Kids get sick.  I’ll let her watch an in-room movie and stock up on the juice, and she’ll be fine in the morning.”

A few hours later, we were in an ambulance.

Everything turned out OK with Abby (she had a nasty ear infection, a virus, and a touch of dehydration all at once), but things sure could have gone smoother if I’d had a better idea of what to do when my kid got sick on vacation.  And, what with the recirculated air on planes and the recent incidents of whole cruise ships falling prey to, not an iceberg, but a virus, your kid might be next.  Be prepared!

Here are Suite Trip’s picks for our favorite baseball cities for a weekend visit.

Chicago in the Spring and Summer

BY Kara Williams of thevacationgals.com

Chicago in the Spring and Summer

Throw off those winter coats! Spring has sprung in urban centers throughout the United States – including Chicago, Illinois, a favorite family vacation destination all year round. But this city especially shines in the warm-weather months since it borders Lake Michigan, where you’ll find 33 beaches along 26 miles of lakefront. If it’s too chilly to swim, canoe or kayak in early spring, you can still enjoy a brisk walk along the lakefront paths or admire the boats on the water. Rent bicycles from Bike & Roll at Navy Pier to enjoy the recreation paths on two wheels – truly great fun for the whole family! Read More >
